My sweet Momma
1938-2009
A Heavenly Prayer Dear One,
When you have completed all that I have for you to do on earth, then you will join Me in Heaven. I have a place prepared for you when it is time for you to come to Me, and it is filled with many treasures. It is my home, and I want to share it with you for eternity. There are many things close to My heart that I will share with you—things that cannot be revealed at this time, but are reserved for you in Heaven. I love you, and I love spending time with you on earth, but now, many days in Heaven! Love, God

Momma met Jesus!

On Friday, February 13, 2009 momma met Jesus!

After 30 wonderful days of being at home and showing signs of improvement, God called my momma home! She came home from the hospital on Jan. 11th and went back in on Feb. 11th.

God has given us all such a wonderful peace. I can't describe it, but I am so thankful that He gives it. I don't know how people who don't know the Lord get through times like these ; because it is in times like these that we need JESUS! He is our rock and our strong tower and I am so glad that we can run to Him!

I had a wonderful mother!!!! Not only was she my mother, but one of my best friends. It didn't matter what I wanted to do she was always ready and willing to go and do it with me. She didn't particularly like to shop, but she enjoyed going with me because she knew that I liked it. We had many wonderful times together. She never grumbled or complained even when she was at her worst. I can't say that I have taken after her in that manner, but I am trying harder. She loved her family and Keaton was her life! She lived these past 9 years striving to make Keaton happy! They were "best buddies." Keaton is going to miss her, as we all will, but they made many good memories together. She taught Keaton to ride a bike and swim and she couldn't do either one!! Those two spent many wonderful hours together making memories that Keaton will cherish forever.

When my mom was in the hospital in December, I thought that was the end and God was ready to take her home. I gave her up to God then and told Him that it was in His hands and whatever His will was I was surrendered to it, but in His amazing grace He gave her back to us for 30 more days. They were wonderful days! I never thought I would hear her voice again, but each time I was able to call her and talk to her on the phone, when I would hang up I'd stop and praise God for letting me be able to talk to her again! It was like old times, coming home from work and going over to their house and seeing her, daddy and Keaton sitting there in the den around the fire in the fireplace. It was so great to see her able to eat again and enjoy company. Before her surgery she was so sick and couldn't eat and couldn't enjoy company, but she seemed to be improving so much and we all had high hopes that in the next few weeks she would be able to go back to church. But we know that our ways are not God's ways and our thoughts are not God's thoughts and He had a different plan for her life. I am so thankful that I know my mom is in heaven and I can see her again one day.

It's hello after goodbye!

Momma Left Me

by: Beverly Tinney

Tonight the rain came down softly, and as it seemed the whole world slept I am reminded of those simple words the day my “Jesus Wept.” And rather the tears were of sorrow for me or the joy for Heavens gain Somewhere in the twilight, God took momma away. As I looked around the empty room, I began to see All of the things My Momma had left behind for me. I saw on the table her Bible the pages worn and read As I recalled the nights she prayed for me, and all the tears she’d shed There’s the picture of my son, my Momma’s pride and joy! I was an only child and “Keaton” was for sure, her little boy. There are all around me loved ones they each express their sympathy What a mark she made on this world and she left it all for me. Momma had worked like Martha, worshipped like Mary. Jesus was her all and all. And as I drive past the church she loved, each Memory I recall. I don’t know of a life she didn’t touch Momma went that extra mile. Never with grumbling or complaining; for Momma always had a smile. If you missed church with Momma there, it wasn’t out of sight Because you could always count on her, Momma would call or write. The wear and tear life took on her became more easy to see But, “God is good in all He does” Momma left those words for me Her testimony was of His blood that washed her white as snow. She’d sing “Christ has regarded my helpless estate, It is well, It is well with my soul.” In my troubled times, when my world came crashing in Momma forgot she was “Momma” and was simply my best friend. I picture now in Heaven her loved ones at the gate, as she is welcomed home Jesus is there to welcome her and she bows there at His throne. I am sure by now she’d called my name, as she says “Jesus look and see” And she summoned all of Heaven to come and watch over Daddy, Keaton and me. As the Preacher says His closing words of comfort and all the people bow their heads in prayer I look to say my last “Goodbyes” but I know Momma isn’t there. The pain stabs my heart and takes my breath, but Momma wouldn’t want me to grieve That’s the reasons for the joys and all the memories that Momma left behind for me.

Back in the hospital

One month to the day of momma coming home from the hospital, she had to go back. She woke up early Wednesday morning having difficulty breathing. Daddy took her to the emergency room and they admitted her. They say she has either pneumonia or fluid on her lungs or both. She had a really bad day Thursday, struggling to breathe, because her oxygen levels dropped to around 70%. The Lord touched her once and I know He can do it again if it’s His will. I keep reminding myself that God is in control and He has a purpose and plan for this. We may not understand it here in this lifetime, but it will be worth it all some day.

We put off this project as long as we could. Tony scrapping the ceiling Dust from Tony sanding the walls. Our house looks like this--dust, dust and more dust!

Christmas Day

We went up on Christmas Eve and spent the night in the Medical Towers with Daddy and Aunt Betty. We took Keaton's presents from his poppa & nanny up and he opened them in poppa's room and then took it over on Christmas day and showed them to nanny. We spent a quiet Christmas day at the hospital visiting with my mom. She was in very good spirits. It wasn't the perfect Christmas, but at least we were all together.
