Father's Day

~Celebrating Father's Day~
We started off our day with a wonderful Father's Day service at church.
Tim is presenting Bro. John with a love gift from the church.
He is truly a Shepherd and a father to us all.
Bro. John preached a wonderful sermon on
"God needs a few good men."
Ezk. 22:30
  • God is looking for men who have learned how to lean on Jesus.
  • God is looking for men who have learned to lead their family in prayer & worship.
  • God is looking for men who have learned how to love.

Happy Father's Day to the men in my life!

Happy Father's Day
A Dad is a person who is loving and kind,
And often he knows what you have on your mind.
He's someone who listens, suggests, and defends.
A dad can be one of your very best friends!
He's proud of your triumphs, but when things go wrong,
A dad can be patient and helpful and strong
In all that you do,a dad's love plays a part.
There's always a place for him deep in your heart.
And each year that passes, you're even more glad,
More grateful and proud just to call him your dad!
Thank you, Dad...for listening and caring, for giving and sharing,
but, especially, for just being you!
Happy Father's Day
Daddy, Keaton & Tony
I am so thankful for my dad. Now with my mom gone, it gives me ever more of an appreciation for my parents. I can look back and see the many sacrifices that they made for me. God blessed me with a wonderful dad, Keaton with an amazing Poppa, and Tony with more than just a father-in-law, but a friend!
Keaton & Tony
Tony has been a wonderful step dad to Keaton. Keaton loves Tony and enjoys spending time with him ridding 4-wheelers, playing the GameCube or just hanging out.
God has been so good to our family and for that I am so thankful!

Still celebrating

Saturday afternoon Aunt Betty came up and we cooked out
and she brought Keaton his birthday presents.
It was a nice afternoon to sit outside and watch Keaton play with his new toys. Opening his gifts. Wonder what's in there?
A new basketball net!
Keaton and Poppa putting up the new net.
The neighbor boys came down and played some bean bag toss with him.
This was his favorite thing...the rocket launcher!
You put the rocket on the stand and then step on the red thing and watch the rocket soar up high in the air. They really had the rockets sailing all over the place. Several times they had to get them off the roof of the house.
Watching it....it's going, going, gone!

Lunch with my cousin Barbara

Today I had lunch with my cousin Barbara Rush. I went to Taco Bell and got us each a Mexican pizza. Then Barbara had a piece of chocolate cake that we split for dessert.
Barbara just recently moved into this apartment complex.
Looks likes she lives in a resort. You feel like you are on vacation when you are here. Barbara's new Saturn. Barbara gave her dogs away when she moved into the new apartment. I saw this cute little stuffed dog yesterday so I got it for her. Now she has a dog, but doesn't have to feed, water or walk it.

A Piece of Birthday Cake

Keaton requested that, my friend, Hannah make him a lemon cake for his birthday.
Fresh out of the oven!
He could hardly wait for me to take the picture.... ...before he cut into the cake!
Yum-O!

Time for a change

"There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven..."
Ecc. 3:1
The frizz had gotten the best of me and I decided it was time for a new hair do.

Boys Day Out

Instead of a birthday party this year, we had a "boy's day out."
...Drew, Keaton, Andy & Chandler...
We went and picked up a couple of Keaton's classmates
and took them to Burger King for lunch.
As most of you know, this is Keaton's favorite place to eat!
Boys, just being boys!! They had so much to talk about. Keaton misses his friends over the summer holidays.
After lunch, we brought them all back to our house to swim and play
and eat cupcakes and chips.
It was time for a snack after all that swimming.
Drew with a chocolate face!
Chandler with a chocolate face!
They all had a fun day together. It started out rainy, but God answered our prayer and it stopped raining and the sun even came out for a little while. I would have liked to have taken more pictures, but boys just don't like the camera so I didn't want to push my luck!
