Keaton's Treehouse

Keaton and the neighbor boys built a tree house in the old Magnolia tree out behind our house. They have enjoyed hammering and nailing boards all over the tree to make ledges to sit on.

More Snow Pictures

The Meaning of the Snowflake
by: Holley Gerth
Every new snowflake comes to the earth
as a picture of our Savior's birth
because they are sent from up above
and remind us of God's care and love.
Each one is so intricate and small
because Christ sees the details of us all,
and just as two are never the same
the Lord knows and calls us each by name.
Snowflakes gently cover the world in white
and hide what's unlovely from our sight,
showing us how He covers our sin
and gives us His grace when we come to Him.
So may every snowflake bring Christ to mind
and in every bit of white may you find
a reason to celebrate anew
and a reminder of His love for you.

Snow - March 2009

Only in the South can you have tornadoes, snow and 70-degree weather all within one week!
They predicted snow, but I really didn't think it would happen, but this is what we awoke to Sunday morning--beautiful snow. I love snow as long as the electricity stays on. Usually down here, we get snow then a tree falls on the power lines and we are without electricity for several days. I am not a pioneer and don't like to "rough it." We didn't have church because our pastor was out of town and our associate pastor was sick so we decided that we would call off services since several families live out of town and probably wouldn't won't to be out on the roads.
We played out in the snow and then headed to daddy's house to warm up by the fireplace. I had already cooked a pot of taco soup for lunch. That hit the spot on a cold snowy day. By 3 pm or so the sun started coming out and the temp went up and the snow began to melt. By Sunday evening it was all melted expect for the snowmen! Now, that's my kind of snow storm!!

Keaton's Memento

Keaton's class gave him this throw as a remembrance of his "nennie."
It has the word "Grandmother" on it along with a poem.
Here he has the throw draped over his bed.
He sleeps with it every night.
I took it and had "Nennie" monogrammed on it
along with the dates 1938-2009
Thank you to Mrs. Christa and the 4th grade class for your love and kindness
during these difficult days.

Upward Basketball

Another season of Upward Basketball has come and gone.
Keaton had a great coach this year -- Coach Todd. He is also Keaton's P.E. teacher at school and he coaches the girls H.S. team. He coaches with enthusiasm, but also with love and kindness because he realizes these are still children.
One last team meeting.

Bathroom Remodel is now complete

The bathroom project is complete thanks to my husband and sister-in-law.
Tony scrapped and muddied the walls and Sarah primed and painted them!
I got the fun job of DUSTING!! I have never seen so much dust. It was everywhere.
No more paint peeling from the ceiling!
Nice, clean & painted walls I still have to hang the curtains and get a new picture for the wall.
